About Lagos de Moreno
Lagos de Moreno is a city in the highlands of Los Altos de Jalisco whose historic center and old bridge are part of the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro World Heritage listing. The pink stone Baroque parish of the Assumption towers over streets of mansions, a former Capuchin convent that is now the Casa de la Cultura, and the Calvario church. Nicknamed the Athens of Jalisco for its writers, it is also dairy and horse country, with charrería, cheeses and milk sweets, hot spring resorts and hacienda hotels nearby.
