Privacy policy

Last updated October 24, 2026.

Puebloteca is a free travel guide. You don't need an account to use it, we never sell anything about you, and we collect as little as we can. This page says what we do collect and why.

Visiting the site

Like most sites, our server keeps short-lived technical logs (your IP address, browser and the page you asked for) to run the site and stop abuse. Errors are reported to Sentry so we can fix them.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits, pages and where visitors come from, and Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used (clicks, scrolling and anonymous session recordings) so we can make them easier to use. Both set cookies and receive your IP address, and Google's and Microsoft's own privacy policies apply. You can block them with your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker; the site works the same.

Partner links

When you click a "Plan your trip" link for hotels, tours or flights, we count the click: which page, which partner and when, with nothing that identifies you. From there you are on the partner's site (Booking.com, Expedia, Viator and others), which sets its own cookies so it can pay us a small commission, and its privacy policy applies. Some pages load a script from our affiliate network, Travelpayouts, for the same purpose.

Email

If you sign up for the newsletter or a free guide, we keep your email address, the lists and language you chose, the page you signed up on and when you confirmed. We send through Amazon SES, and our emails tell us when they are opened or clicked, so we can stop writing to people who no longer read them. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Things you send us

If you suggest a fix or send a photo, we keep what you send, and your name and email if you give them, to review it and credit you. Photos we publish carry the credit you asked for.

Your location

The "near me" page uses your location only inside your browser, to sort places by distance. It is never sent to us.

Pinterest and other social sites

We share our own pages on Pinterest and other social sites. Our Pinterest account may be connected to Pinterest's API, only to read our own account's statistics (how often our pins were seen, saved and clicked). It reads nothing about you.

Your choices

Write to [email protected] to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted; we answer within 30 days. Unsubscribing stops our emails right away.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date.
