About San Carlos

San Carlos is a beach town on the Sea of Cortez near Guaymas, Sonora, where desert mountains drop straight into clear, shallow bays. The twin-peaked Cerro Tetakawi stands over everything, and the scenic lookout beside it has one of the best ocean views in the region. People come to dive and snorkel around San Pedro Nolasco Island, sail, fish for dorado and sailfish, hike Nacapule Canyon, and spend the winter; many Americans and Canadians do.
