About Tlaltizapán
Tlaltizapán de Zapata is a warm-country town in Morelos, set on a pale hill that explains its Nahuatl name, on white land. It is best known as the place where Emiliano Zapata kept his headquarters during the Revolution, and for the 16th-century Dominican monastery of San Miguel Arcángel. Around it are spring-fed swimming spots and river parks such as Las Estacas, Los Sauces and Santa Isabel, plus old sugar haciendas, one now a hotel.
