    The irrigated desert region shared by Coahuila and Durango around Torreón, Gómez Palacio and Lerdo, with the old mining town of Mapimí, the Ojuela bridge and the Mapimí biosphere reserve to the north and Viesca and its dunes to the east.

    Getting around La Laguna

    Fly into Torreón (TRC).

    Most of the region is reached by road: a rental car is the easiest way to see several places in a day, and buses link the larger towns.

    When to visit La Laguna

    Most of La Laguna is at its best in January, February, March, and December.
