About Mocorito

Mocorito is a small colonial town in northwestern Sinaloa with old mansions, narrow lanes full of ghost stories, and a church whose facade mixes rough quarry stone and brick. It is known across the state for its food, especially chilorio, chorizo, machaca and jamoncillo, and for banda music. Visitors stroll the plazuela, cool off under the old poplars along the Mocorito River, and time trips for Carnival or the week-long Purísima Concepción fair in December.
