    Mapimí

Mapimí is a small desert town in northeastern Durango that gives its name to the vast Bolsón de Mapimí. It grew rich on the mines of the nearby sierra, and its old center is part of the UNESCO-listed Camino Real de Tierra Adentro. The main outing is to the ghost town of La Ojuela, a few kilometers away, to walk the long suspension bridge that hangs over a deep ravine. Mineral collectors know the Ojuela mine for its specimens, especially adamite.
