    About Arteaga

    Arteaga is a small town just east of Saltillo, at the foot of the Sierra Madre Oriental in Coahuila. It is apple country, with orchards in the valleys and pine-covered mountains above that turn properly cold in winter. People from the city come up on weekends, and the sierra draws mountain bikers, road cyclists, climbers, and trail and ultra runners. The name is Basque in origin and means place of oaks.
