About Xenses
Xenses is the smallest and quirkiest of the Grupo Xcaret parks, opened in 2016 at km 282 of Highway 307, in the same cluster as Xcaret, Xplor and Río Secreto a few kilometres south of Playa del Carmen. Its slogan is that nothing is what it seems: the park is a sequence of illusions and sensory tricks rather than rides.
The visit follows two circuits. The Ruta del Hacer (route of doing) runs through a lopsided Mexican village built to throw off your balance, a long slide, a zip line on which you fly over the park like a bird, and the Xpá Natural, where you cover yourself in mud, float in a salt-water river and rinse off under jets of water. The Ruta del Sentir (route of feeling) is quieter: a walk through different ecosystems in total darkness, a path that makes you feel giant and then tiny, a garden section, caves and grottoes, optical-illusion rooms and a stop for lemonade in the Jardín Xítrico.
Across both routes the park counts 14 themed scenes and 138 marked photo spots, from an upside-down house to a pool you seem to float in without getting wet. It works well as a half day, and it is noticeably cheaper than Xcaret or Xplor. Expect to get muddy and wet on the Ruta del Hacer.
How to get to Xenses
Drive from Playa del Carmen: 10 min, 10 km
Xenses is at km 282 of Federal Highway 307 (Cancún–Tulum), beside Xcaret and Xplor, a few kilometres south of Playa del Carmen and about 75 km south of Cancún. Grupo Xcaret sells round-trip hotel transport with the ticket (599 MXN per person in 2026).
