Bustamante is a small town in northern Nuevo León, set where the dry plains meet the mountains. It is best known for the Grutas de Bustamante, a large cave system in the sierra above town, and for its traditional bread. It is one of the few places in the state included in the Pueblos Mágicos program.
History
Bustamante is the head town of the municipality of the same name in Nuevo León. It traces its origins to a settlement of Tlaxcalan families established here in the late 17th century, during the colonization of the northeast. Today it is one of the towns in the state that belong to the Pueblos Mágicos program.
