Lake 7 km south of Mascota
Mascota's reservoir on the Mascota River, about 7.5 km long, with kayaks, boat rides, fishing, horse rides and lakeside grills.
Presa Corrinchis is the reservoir that holds back the Mascota River in the hills south of town. It stretches about seven and a half kilometers between low ridges covered in oak and pine, and it is where Mascota families go on weekends to eat, fish and spend an afternoon by the water.
The reservoir is easy to enjoy without much planning. You can paddle a kayak along the shore, take a boat ride, cast a line, or rent a horse for a ride along the banks. Several walking routes run along the hills around it, including one of almost seven kilometers with wide views over the water and the valley. Terraces with grills and simple restaurants near the shore make it an easy place for a long lunch.
Because it lies between Mascota and Talpa de Allende, Corrinchis fits well into a drive between the two Pueblos Mágicos. Late afternoon is a good time to come, when the light softens over the hills and waterbirds feed in the shallows.

Getting there
