About Papalote Museo del Niño

This Papalote is the Cuernavaca branch of the hands-on museum that began in Mexico City; a local guide says it opened in 2008. It is still running: its official site sells tickets online, and in August 2024 it inaugurated the temporary exhibition "Sueño: Misión Agente 0030", about the importance of good sleep. It stands at Avenida Vicente Guerrero 205 in Lomas de la Selva, across from the Costco, and is separate from the Chapultepec Papalote.

The idea is to learn by playing, touching and trying. Guides mention more than 35 exhibits, including a bubble zone, a bed of nails, a radio booth and a room devoted to Van Gogh. The official site splits the museum into two areas: the ground floor for children aged 2 to 5, and the upper floor for ages 7 and up. That makes it workable for families with kids of different ages, who can choose what to see by age; there is even content for children under three.

Guides give Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 18:00 (one source lists a 9:00 opening on weekdays), closed Mondays. General admission is about $59, bought on the official site. Schools and groups have their own email and phone line. Hours and prices shift with the season, so check the site before you go.
