Loma Bonita

Among the localities of Tepoztlán municipality, only the seat (14,719 residents in 2020) and Santa Catarina (5,552) are bigger than this Loma Bonita, which counted 4,321. Its growth is among the fastest in the state: 406 people in 2000, 1,042 in 2005, 2,332 in 2010 and those 4,321 in 2020, split almost evenly between women (2,176) and men (2,145). Inhabited houses numbered 717 in 2010 and 1,123 in 2020.

Its altitude is around 1,490 m and its postal code is 62529; it is a colonia on the western side of the municipality whose growth has come mostly in this century. Its closest neighbours are Tetenco (1,087 people), 800 m to the northwest, and Tetecolala (3,578), just under 1 km to the southeast; Loma Esmeralda lies about 3 km to the southeast. This Loma Bonita should not be mixed up with the ones in Yecapixtla, Ayala or Emiliano Zapata, nor with the one in Valle de Bravo.

According to Pueblos de México, average schooling in 2020 was 9.4 years, 2.6% of the population was illiterate and 35% had been born outside Morelos, so many residents arrived from other states. About 96% of homes had a toilet and 98.6% electricity. For a traveller there is no sight of its own.
