About Fuentes del Valle
Fuentes del Valle is a colonia of Tultitlán, between Buenavista and San Pablo de las Salinas, at the northern edge of Mexico City. INEGI counted 28,164 residents in 1990, 56,212 in 2000, 74,087 in 2010 and 82,274 in 2020, so most of the growth came in the 1990s. It sits at about 2,251 m. It is the third-largest locality in the municipality and has a station on Mexibús Line 2, which runs from Las Américas in Ecatepec to La Quebrada in Cuautitlán Izcalli. We found no source saying who developed it or in which exact year.
It is a residential district, not a place to sightsee. A record of the heavy rains of 17 September 2015 notes that the DN-III emergency plan was activated here because of flooding, so in the rainy season take care in low-lying streets. The usual reason to come is to visit someone, or to use it as a link: from its Mexibús station you can reach Lechería, where Line 2 meets the Tren Suburbano toward Mexico City.
If you have time to spare, the centre of Tultitlán de Mariano Escobedo, the municipal seat, keeps a 16th-century church of San Lorenzo and the church of San Antonio de Padua, and the Sierra de Guadalupe has an ecological park.
How to get to Fuentes del Valle
Drive from Mexico City: 35 min, 32 km
Mass transit is easiest. The Fuentes del Valle station is on Mexibús Line 2, which opened on 12 January 2015 and connects with the Tren Suburbano at Lechería. From there the Tren Suburbano (Buenavista-AIFA) reaches Buenavista terminal in Mexico City in about 30 minutes; the short-trip fare is 11.50 pesos with the Movilidad Integrada card, and service starts at 5:00 am on weekdays. Confirm current times before you set out.
From central Mexico City it is about 22 km in a straight line (roughly 25 to 45 minutes by car depending on traffic); check a map for the route, since we found no source for the roads. Tepotzotlán, the nearest pueblo, is about 13 km away in a straight line.
