Pachuca has four Pueblos Mágicos within half an hour, more than any other city in Mexico. Real del Monte, fifteen minutes up the hill, is the Cornish mining town of pasties and English graves; Mineral del Chico is a village in a national park of pine forest and rock spires; Huasca de Ocampo has its basalt prisms and old haciendas; Zempoala its sixteenth-century aqueduct. Under an hour away are Teotihuacán and Otumba, and within two the Sierra Norte de Puebla with Zacatlán, Chignahuapan and Huauchinango.

Getting there
Pachuca has no airport with scheduled flights; the usual one to fly into is Mexico City (Felipe Ángeles) (NLU).
A car is the easiest way to reach most of these towns; the bigger ones also have direct buses from Pachuca. Each pueblo's page has its own getting-there notes.
