About Topilco de Juárez
Topilco de Juárez is a locality in the municipality of Xaltocan, at about 2,500 metres above sea level and less than 1 km from the municipal seat, which lies to the north. It is one of the area's youngest settlements: according to Wikipedia it was founded on 5 December 1973. Topilco comes from Nahuatl and is interpreted as "place of command"; Juárez honours Benito Juárez, president of Mexico from 1858 to 1872.
The 2020 census recorded 2,385 people (1,277 women and 1,108 men), up from 2,316 in 2010, 2,131 in 2005 and 1,998 in 2000; in 1980 there were 1,207. Almost all homes have electricity and piped water (over 98%), but only about one in four has internet.
Its immediate neighbours are Loma Morada (0.9 km northwest), Tlalapechco (1.3 km southwest) and Colonia Puerto Arturo (1.5 km southwest). The most recognisable building is the church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, at the end of a cobbled street that climbs toward the temple. There are no hotels in the locality; the closest is Cabañas del Tío Beto, about 4 km southwest. Tlaxco, a Pueblo Mágico, is about 39 km by road.

Topilco de Juárez is about 0.7 km south of Xaltocan, the municipal seat, and is a few minutes from it along local streets. From Tlaxco, a Pueblo Mágico, it is about 39 km and approx. 35 minutes by car; from Huamantla, about 48 km and approx. 44 minutes. To the city of Puebla it is approx. 50 minutes by the project's estimate (about 42 km). There is no published public-transport route for the locality; it is best reached by car, or by shared transport to Xaltocan and then taxi or on foot. There is no registered lodging in the locality.
