A region of Baja California Sur
The bay of La Paz on the Sea of Cortez: the state capital and its malecón, the beaches of the Pichilingue peninsula such as Balandra and El Tecolote, and the islands of Espíritu Santo and La Partida offshore, with sea lions at Los Islotes. South-east of the city, Los Planes, La Ventana and El Sargento look across to Isla Cerralvo, a coast known for winter kitesurfing.
