About Playa Las Minitas

Playa Las Minitas is a small beach on the Riviera Nayarit coast just southwest of Lo de Marcos, the fishing village between San Pancho and Rincón de Guayabitos. It lies less than a kilometer from the south end of Lo de Marcos's main beach, past the rocky inlet of El Atracadero, and a few hundred meters from its neighbor, Playa Los Venados. The dirt road that leads there from the village, the Camino a Las Minitas, takes its name from it.

Together with Los Venados and El Atracadero, Las Minitas is one of the little beaches that local guides name around Lo de Marcos: short stretches of sand framed by green hills and oddly shaped rocks, more private and less visited than the main beach. The Riviera Nayarit tourism board describes the beaches here as good for swimming, surfing, snorkeling and watching Pacific sunsets, and on calm days the water near the rocks is clear enough to see fish when the waves break.

Do not expect services at the beach itself. For food, rooms and supplies, Lo de Marcos is close by, with seafood restaurants, small hotels, bungalows and an RV park. As anywhere on this open coast, the sea can change quickly, so look at the waves before you swim.
