    About Jesús Nazareno

    Jesús Nazareno is a town in the municipality of Palmar de Bravo in east-central Puebla. Its name comes from its patron, Jesus of Nazareth. It stands at about 2,160 m and had 3,287 people in 2020. It lies south-east of Palmarito Tochapan, in the valley between the Sierra del Monumento and the Sierra de Tecamachalco.

    The municipality of Palmar de Bravo is large and populous: about 363 km² and 50,226 people in 2020, ranging from 2,100 to 2,900 m. It belongs to Region 3, centred on Ciudad Serdán, and borders Quecholac, Chalchicomula de Sesma, Esperanza, Cañada Morelos, Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez, Yehualtepec and Tecamachalco.

    From above, the town sits among the valley's fields. In neighbouring Palmarito Tochapan water comes mostly from deep wells, and irrigation systems have been built in recent years for the valley's farms. For travellers, Jesús Nazareno lies between Tecamachalco and Ciudad Serdán.
