About Playa Ejidal Xoxocotla
Playa Ejidal Xoxocotla is the public beach run by the ejido of Xoxocotla on the north shore of Lake Tequesquitengo, inside the municipality of Jojutla according to Wikivoyage's listing. Unlike the boat clubs on the shore, which charge higher day passes and have hotels, entry here is cheap: a March 2025 Tus Buenas Noticias article gives 50 pesos for adults and 25 for children.
Wikivoyage describes what is on offer: swimming pools, palapas, chair and umbrella rental, boat, jet ski and water-ski rental, and food and drink for sale, though you can bring your own. The same 2025 article mentions water-activity instructors on the shore and nearby seafood restaurants. Anything you hire separately (boat, jet ski, chair) adds to the entry fee, and rates are quoted on site.
Published hours are 9:00 to 18:00; the 2025 article gives them for Monday to Friday and does not say how they change on weekends, so on a Saturday or Sunday it is worth calling or checking at the gate before you plan around it. We found no official page for the ejido; the two sources cited here are Wikivoyage and that press article, so treat prices as a reference.
How to get to Playa Ejidal Xoxocotla
Drive from Cuernavaca: 35 min, 35 km
The beach is on the north shore of Lake Tequesquitengo, on the Xoxocotla ejido's land. From Cuernavaca allow about 35 to 40 minutes on the Mexico-Acapulco highway (95D) heading south to the Tequesquitengo exit, then the road that circles the lake. From Jojutla de Juárez the village of Tequesquitengo is about 10 km away (Wikipedia).
Pullman de Morelos leaves Cuernavaca for Jojutla about every 20 minutes, and there are departures from Mexico City's Terminal Sur (Taxqueña) to Jojutla too (Wikivoyage). From the Galeana terminal in Jojutla, open 5:30 to 21:20, finish by taxi; the sources give no public transit route to the beach itself. Tlaltizapán is about 14 km as the crow flies.
