Chilpancingo has no Pueblo Mágico close by, but the mountains to the north hold several within a weekend's reach. Taxco, the silver town stacked on a hillside, is about two hours up the old highway, with Ixcateopan, where Cuauhtémoc's remains are said to lie, in the hills beyond it. Across the state line in Morelos are the sugar-cane towns of Tlaltizapán and Xochitepec, and in the State of Mexico the hot springs of Ixtapan de la Sal and Tonatico.
