Estadio Mariano Matamoros

Nicknamed "la escuelita de Xochitepec", the Mariano Matamoros is the municipal football stadium of Xochitepec, on the southern edge of greater Cuernavaca. It was built between 1980 and 1981, has a grass pitch of 105 by 68 metres and is usually listed at 16,000 spectators (Spanish Wikipedia also mentions 18,000). It counts as the second-largest stadium in Morelos after the Agustín "Coruco" Díaz in Zacatepec.

Teams from every tier of Mexican football have used it. In 2002 it hosted the Copa Morelos, and in 2003 the Atlético Celaya franchise, renamed Colibríes de Morelos, played its Primera División home games here and went down in the Clausura. Leones de Morelos followed in 2004 in the Liga de Ascenso, Ballenas Galeana played here in the Segunda División between 2007 and 2013, and Inter de Acapulco used it temporarily in 2015. Later tenants include Atlético Cuernavaca (2017-2019), Morelos F.C. and Ángeles Morelos.

Since the Clausura 2025 it has been the home of Zacatepec F.C. in the Liga Premier, which left the Coruco Díaz because it could not share it with another club. The ground stands on the Tejalpa-Zacatepec highway, in the locality of Chiconcuac, across from the Campestre water park, and belongs to the Xochitepec town council. It is a lower-league, youth-development ground: you go for a match, not for sightseeing, and kick-off times follow the fixture list.
