    About La Corrala

    La Corrala sits at 136 metres in the Hidalgo Huasteca, inside Huejutla de Reyes municipality. With 542 residents in 2020 it is one of the municipality's smaller localities, with 0.43% of the municipality's population, whose seat is Huejutla.

    The ground is sierra, in the Carso Huasteco of the Sierra Madre Oriental, and water runs to the Tempoal River sub-basin of the Moctezuma basin. The climate is semi-warm and humid with heavy summer rain. In the municipality grow acacia, chote, cedar, sapodilla, capulín and bull vine, and ocelot, deer, armadillo and peccary live.

    The village lies a little over a kilometre from Huichapa, in neighbouring Jaltocán municipality, whose park and bandstand are a reference point locally. Huejutla, whose Nahuatl name means 'place where willows abound', is a farming municipality: 14,234 hectares of maize, 2,440 of coffee and more than 700 of beans, with 84 Diconsa stores, six tianguis, a public market and a wholesale market.

    La Corrala is in Huejutla de Reyes municipality, in northern Hidalgo, and Huejutla is its transport hub. ADO runs about 5 daily buses from Pachuca to Huejutla, about 4 h 20 min according to Rome2rio; by car the trip is about 207 km and 3 h 15 min. Huichapa is about 1.5 km away in a straight line. Using the pin coordinates, Xilitla is about 55 km away (approx. 65 minutes) and Ciudad Valles about 105 km (approx. 2 hours).
