Xalapa's three closest Pueblos Mágicos are its coffee-country neighbours, all within forty minutes: Coatepec, with its colonial coffee houses, Xico with its Texolo waterfall and mole, and Naolinco, the leather-boot town above the valley. An hour or so further are Coscomatepec and the Sierra Norte de Puebla at Teziutlán and Tlatlauquitepec; Córdoba and Orizaba are an hour and a half. For a weekend, Cuetzalan's cloud-forest market town or Papantla and El Tajín on the coast.

Getting there
Xalapa has no airport with scheduled flights; the usual one to fly into is Veracruz (VER).
A car is the easiest way to reach most of these towns; the bigger ones also have direct buses from Xalapa. Each pueblo's page has its own getting-there notes.
